gill?s diner
Last week I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Gill"s Diner. The outstanding dish was the roast rabbit, rolled and stuffed and sitting on a bed of brussel sprout puree. The rabbit contained prunes and was wrapped in bacon. It was an outstanding dish. I also ordered the broccoli with anchovy, which was delightfully salty and savoury....Read Full article

2AM Lockout: The end of nightlife in Melbourne
Roving police patrols at night targeting violent hotspots was a great idea but Premier John Brumby"s 2AM lockout is just ridiculous. Last week, Brumby announced a trial starting on June 3, that imposes a 2AM lockout in areas in and around Melbourne. Some areas affected include Fitzroy (i.e. Brunswick St.), the CBD, St. Kilda, and Prahran. Once you step out of a venue and its after 2AM, you will not be allowed back in. This is supposed to curb increasing violence in Melbourne. Licencees who breach this lockout will be face fines up to $6800. The only exception to the ban unsurprisingly is the government revenue maker, Crown Casino....Read Full article

your audience is bigger than your imagination
Nine take note. The community has rejected your pathetic faux social media file sharing experiment called catchuptv. Your crap 4:3 Hiro DRM advertisement infested downloads of Banal Road are widely detested. We also hate geographical territories being included and excluded in the digital world. Your Hiro files only work in Australia and New Zealand. Your audience is bigger than your imagination.
The Banal Road files being shared via torrents are HD TV rips. There are also reports of successful rips of the Hiro files into other, more user friendly, codecs....Read Full article

a social media guide for small business
Small businesses, particularly in service and entertainment niches, such as cafes and restaurants, are struggling to adapt to the new realities of the world of social media. Food blogs and aggregation sites expose businesses to more scrutiny than ever before and that scrutiny is so easy to share.
Hopefully you started by developing a business plan. Part of this would have included creating a business name. You need something unique (for Google to find) and easy (for humans) to remember....Read Full article

Possible Lemon (car)
So I have possibly just purchased a lemon car. I picked it up last night. 2001 Holden Barina from a 19 year old girl. Its a manual, which I cant drive, so my mate drove it to my house for me. He said the gears are hard to push in, steering is heavy, car stalls when starting sometimes and something about fuel gauge. Another friend of mine test drove this car, with me in the passenger side, only 5 days before. We had no problem with it what so ever and took it out to the back roads to really see what it could do. I have it booked into my mechanic tomorrow to see if anything is wrong with it. I also got a Roadworthy Certificate with it and it said there was not one single thing wrong with it.My question is:If the car does have problems with it that should have come up when the mechanic did the Roadworthy, what are my legal rights? My friend works at the bank where I got my cheque from and said he would cancel it for me. But where do I stand? Can I take the car back and say here is your lemon I don't want it? Or am I stuck with a dodgey car that will end up costing me a bit to get fixed?TIA...
