Brunswick St women"s fashion shop IDS commissioned artist Deb some time ago to paint some of her signature female figures on their shop door and doorway. On a recent weekend walk I noticed that someone had added to her work and I am not sure how I feel about it.

Smith St gentrification
The somewhat shabby but mostly enjoyable Smith St is changing rapidly. Earlier this year the sign in the image below was erected to demarcate the block south of Gertrude St as a fashion and art precinct. More recently, many premises on the block north of Gertrude St have closed, changed tenants or undergone significant alterations.

window of the week - Milk Shoppe Gang
I"ve thought of a new series of posts to run - window of the week. I have already done some posts on mannequins in shop windows and the style and creativity of some businesses in Fitzroy is exceptional - see Friperie, Bird Girl and mei + picchi. The Milk Shoppe Gang on Johnston St win the first window of the week - this is a brilliant display!
