I"m not sure how recent this high tide 2100 AD stencil on Gore St is, but I was fascinated to see it. There"s another on Flickr from 2005 so it may have been there for years, although it looks quite fresh. According to the very helpful Victorian government land website, the area around Gore St is approximately 26m above sea level. This artwork exaggerates how much the ocean may rise due to climate change, but its message is political rather than literal. For more information about the predicted effects of global warming and rising sea levels see 100 metre line.
This stencil was new on Brunswick St earlier in the month.
And the rain sets in; it"s the angel-man... I"m deranged.
Great paste-up on Victoria St (apart from the loser who defaced it).
More work by the mysterious K, on Rose St near the corner of Fitzroy St.
Two connected works by sparcs: the first on Rose St near the corner of Brunswick St, Fitzroy, and the second on the corner building at the intersection of Brunswick St and St George"s Rd, North Fitzroy. See more here and here.
The biker mice must be expanding their territory as this stencil was spotted south of Alexandra Parade!
I like the ambiguity of this stencil.
One version of a work I have seen in several spaces around Fitzroy.
