When I first posted about the creation of this work in Abbotsford last month I was not sure who the artist was, but now I know it is Drewfunk, who has been posting photos of his progress on "The Little Giant Gardener" on his blog – see here and here. I have been riding past each day on my way to work wondering what new additions I will see.

Sometimes people make me so mad. I tried to enjoy the open day at Abbotsford Convent last Sunday but it was very hot and crowded, the suburbans in their monster trucks were turning parking into something akin to interacting with a bunch of footballers in a bar and the C3 contemporary artspace was full of bogans touching and playing with the art, as Melbourne Jeweller explains. It was all horrid and I made a rapid escape, but not before seeing and totally empathising with this work of art in the courtyard. That"s exactly how I felt.

This still to be completed work is on the same street in Abbotsford as Fare Share. Is it meant to be a portrait of KRudd or is it just my imagination? The top photo is from two days ago; the one below from more than a week ago. I"ll post more as it progresses.

A marketing muppet thought they were being clever by inventing these tags that are displayed in the bread section of the Coles supermarket in the Victoria Gardens shopping centre in Richmond in the inner east of Melbourne. The bread is baked by the bakery in the shop. The shop is in Australia so the product is made in Australia. Yes, that"s quite obvious. Making a promotional story about it is retarded.

It"s been a while between visits to the London Tavern on Lennox St in Richmond, but a group of my friends have an occasional pub dinner there on Wednesdays. Most choose the excellent steak sandwich but two of us opted for something fancier – a very tender and satisfying beef bourguignon and delicious Atlantic salmon. The staff are friendly, the food and drinks are good and it"s a very relaxing place to be.

I"m partial to a parma and when I had dinner recently with a friend on a Friday night at the Terminus hotel in Abbotsford, the parma was impossible to resist. We were both exhausted after busy weeks and for a period of time the "can"t talk - eating" rule prevailed as we enjoyed our meals.

This is what I see every Monday morning a I cycle to work: mountains of clothes and other donated items spilling onto the footpath of the Salvo"s in Abbotsford. A lot of rubbish is dumped over the weekend along with worthy donated items and theft is also an issue. The Salvos encourage people to come in and donate when the shop is open, but this is not possible for everyone.

Fare Share is a not-for-profit community organisation that rescues surplus food from being disposed of and uses it to prepare meals that are given to charities to feed the hungry and the homeless in Victoria. It"s a fantastic concept because there is no need for anyone to go hungry in Australia.
